Padmini Chari : Padmini Chari is the disciple of two of the most illustrious Bhararathanayam Gurus Padmashri Adayar Lakshmanan and Padma Bhushan Kalanidhi Narayan of Chennai. Dance in the exquisite Kalakshetra tradition is second nature to her. She is the Artistic Director of the twenty five year old Nrithya School of Dance in Houston. She has traveled extensively and has performed and taught in Germany, Austria before coming to the United States. She is the recipient of the honorary citizenship of the city of Temple, Texas.  She has choreographed many dance ballets and has generously helped out in many fundraising events in Houston. She has been awarded the title  ”Nalla Penmani” in Chennai, India for her work in the field of classical arts.

 

Indrani Parthasarathy is the daughter of Karnataka Kala Thilaka Guru Smt.Radha Sridhar of Bangalore, India. She is also a student of Guru Muththiah Pillai of Pandanallur and M. R Krishnamurthy of Kalakshetra, Chennai. She has also trained in the Kuchipudi style of dancing and in Carnatic music. Her achievements include a first rank in the proficiency dance diploma exam in the state of Karnataka. She is a graded artist of Dooradarshan. She has played major roles in many of her mother’s dance drama productions and has more than 100 solo performances to her credit. She has performed extensively in India, UAE and USA. She is the Artistic director of Abhinaya School of Performing Arts, Houston, TX where she trains students in Bharathanayam and Kuchipudi.
